"The Man Behind the Mask"
|
President Woodrow Wilson is often thought of as cold, reserved, and without a sense of humor. Watch and listen as he lifts his dignified public mask. Discover his lighthearted and serious sides. Follow President Wilson as he leads America to victory in World War I and then struggles to achieve lasting world peace through the League of Nations. In "The Man Behind the Mask," Bill Young presents a fascinating account of the strengths, weaknesses, personality, and character of one of the most important presidents of the United States.
When Bill Young appears as President Wilson, he wears an original black, cutaway, swallow tail coat that dates to 1915. His vest, striped trousers, and pearl drop stickpin are also original. His tailor made shirt has a rounded collar and rounded French cuffs in the fashionable style of the period. Bill Young's pince-nez eye glasses have an antique frame and lenses that were cut from a pattern of President Wilson's original glasses. The original glasses are on display at the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library and Museum in Staunton, Virginia.

"Last night I spent the evening with Woodrow Wilson and it was fascinating. I was spellbound. It was such an interesting and informative way to find out about a former President and to glimpse the perspective of someone many decades ago who was idealistic…and convinced we have an obligation to make the world a better place."
- Janet Miller, member Virginia Militaria Collectors and Historical Association

"I think our group believes that you had a major part in hanging the moon, certainly as it applies to your portrayal of historic figures. Your presentation of President Woodrow Wilson was absolutely superb."
- L. Ralph Jones, Joy Club Program Chairman, Derbyshire Baptist Church
"I know you could tell by the response of the audience that you stunned them and engaged them at a very deep level."
Linda Frank, Executive Director, The Shepherd's Center, Richmond, Virginia
